What is 10% Polyimide Filled PTFE Rod?

10% polyimide filled PTFE rod is made from PTFE using a modification of 10% Polyimide. 10% polyimide filled PTFE rod has low wear rates and low coefficient of friction and it is used in seal components for static and dynamic applications where resistance to high pressure and temperature is key.

10% polyimide filled PTFE rod exhibits low friction and minimal wear in rotary and reciprocating sealing applications. It performs well against soft mating surfaces such as aluminum, mild steel, brass, and plastics, and it is ideal for use in stop-start applications where the goal is to eliminate stick-slip. This material is suggested for use in applications with service temperatures ranging from -240 °C to 287 °C.
